What freedoms have Obama and Dem Congress given us we did not have under Bush?

Freedom from the Patriot Act?

Gitmo closed?

Freedom from MORE DEBT?

More Jobs?

Freedom from domestic spying?

Freedom to see a transparent government?

Freedom from lobbyist influence in the White House?

Exactly how is your life "better" under Obama?

    After much thought, I did find it appropriate to thank Obama for a whole litany of accomplishments and deeds performed by the Self-Anointed One.

    Thank you Obama for an unemployment of 9.7%, and real unemployment (workers who stopped looking, marginally attached workers, and underemployed workers) of 17.5%.

    Thank you Obama for siding with Marxists Fidel Castro and Hugo Chavez when Honduras President Manuel Zelaya decided to throw out the Constitution of his country and stay in power past his term before being unceremoniously marched out of the country by the military which fulfilled its oath, stepped back, and allowed the Honduran Congress to appoint a successor. Those inconvenient Constitutions sure can be a ***** to budding Marxists.

    Thank you Obama for your America apology tour.

    And for trillion dollar bailouts, budgets, deficits.

    Let’s not forget heavy government regulation that further stifles our economic recovery. Thanks a million Mr. President.

    And we can’t forget to thank you for supporting tax increases at all income levels.

    Or indicating you have no idea how basic economic theory works.

    And a big shout out for insulting our intelligence. We know if you increase taxes on small business (what you call the wealthy), big business (such as oil), then everyone, including middle class America, end up paying the tax. Which means we should also thank you for:

    Showing us you would be a horrible contestant on Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader?

    Thank you Obama for selling out our children’s future and attempting to enslave them to a bloated government.

    For the nationalization of many industries, including automotive and health.

    For undermining the CIA and our military by publishing documents that reveal our interrogation techniques.

    For canceling important weapon systems

    For bowing, and bowing, and bowing ad nauseam to world leaders like an impotent second class citizen unworthy of manhood.

    For weakening this country by providing terrorists the same legal protections as U.S. citizens.

    For omitting “Islamic Terrorism” from security documents while allowing the Department of Homeland Security to publish reports labeling soldiers and conservatives as potential right-wing extremists.

    For stonewalling on the Fort Hood massacre investigation:

    For creating a shadow government of czars who are radical Marxists and crooks.

    And lets not forget to thank you for alienating Israel, our only real ally in the Middle East, while fostering a potentially explosive situation in that region. Bully for you.

    An I am sure that many in Iran would love to join us Americans in thanking you for turning your back on Iranian protesters while they were slaughtered.

    While we are at it, thanks in advance for assisting Iran in creating a nuclear warhead. Awesome!

    And thanks for helping me win that bet. It is possible for a President to be worse than Jimmy Carter.

    But most of all, thank you for pulling this country together in opposition to your policies; for making us stronger and setting the stage for a comeback of epic proportions for fiscal conservatism as happened after we were subject to four years of Jimmy Carter. Of course, you won’t be thanking us for that, not when your explicit goal is weakening and destroying the greatest nation on this planet.

    So thank you in advance for failing - something I guarantee will happen. o_O

    In addition to FlSwamp and Middleclass--

    Freedom from all but three of the provisions of the Patriot Act, which will expire on December 31.

    If you're a woman, there is no longer a statute of limitations on when you can file a pay equity suit.

    Your ability to get more disclosure under the FOIA.

    Credit card reform, where you are now free from predatory practices, free from interest rate increases if late payment less than 60 days; and if a parent, freedom from the fear of credit card companies giving your college age student a card without your permission.

    Yeah, top! The financial equipment became interior the lavatory nicely till now Obama became even elected. And blaming the Democratic "controlled" Congress is patently absurd besides. they did no longer have a filibuster evidence majority (they theoretically do now although) and each attempt at re-regulating company and banking became rebuffed by way of the Reps. An financial equipment interior the state that the present one is will take 3 to 5 years or greater to absolutely get better. If we are nonetheless interior the lavatory in 10 years, be chuffed to commence blaming the Dems at that element.

    Absolutely no freedoms have Obama and Dem Congress given us we did not have under Bush. What a really stupid question. Hussein Obama shoved his stupid obamacare down the throats of the people illegally. Hussein Obama blew 1 trillion dollars of the tax payers money in the first six months he was in office for no reason. Hussein Obama blew 22.5 million dollars of the tax payers money bringing his muslim buddy's to the US, so they could kill more US citizens. He has pissed off all of our oldest and most loyal Allies, while kissing, hugging and bowing to our enemies. Hussein Obama is bent on destroying the US, and turning it over to his muslim friends, and he has got a good start on doing that.

    NOT A SINGLE ONE. For those of you touting the Health Care Socialization Act and the Economic Destruction Act of 2009 as "good", where, in the Constitution of the United States, do you find any authority for either of these acts? Where do any of you obama sycophants find any authority for any of the legislation you mention? Without Constitutional authority, is any law "good" - or even legal?

    The freedoms you enjoy were made possible by the US Constitution and the Bill of Rights. Restictions and/or expansions on those freedoms come from the Supreme Court.

    1. Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (Health Care Reform)

    Of all of the legislation to pass Obama's desk, no single law engendered as much controversy, nor represented a greater parting with past norms, than health care reform. Signed on March 23, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act was meant to expand access to health insurance to millions of Americans. The law mandates that all Americans buy into an insurance pool, and prevents insurers from rejecting patients with pre-existing conditions. Whether the law ultimately has the desired effect of improving overall access and affordability of health care in America, the system itself is poised for an overhaul.

    2. Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act (Financial Reform)

    As Obama touted Tuesday, the new law signals an end to government bailouts of the financial sector. Now, tighter government oversight will, allegedly, keep a closer eye on Wall Street, and will have the power to simply shut down failing institutions before they threaten to topple the U.S. economy. In addition, new consumer protections that include a cap on fees charged by banks will soon take effect.

    3. American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (Stimulus Package)

    The so-called stimulus package that Obama signed into law on Feb. 17, 2009, allocated $113.5 billion for the development of alternative energy sources, new forms of mass transit and the retrofitting of buildings to become more energy efficient. Perhaps more than any other aspect of the $789 billion package, the focus on modernization signaled an attempt at nudging the country to a new economic model.

    4. Credit Card Reform Act

    Signed on May 21, 2009, the law signaled the Obama administration's willingness to directly take on banks and credit card companies. It imposed consumer protection restrictions on interest rate and fee hikes. In addition, it limits the kind of marketing credit card companies and banks make to students.

    5. Troop Surge in Afghanistan, Iraq withdrawal

    As he promised as a candidate, Obama has sharply drawn down the number of soldiers fighting in Iraq, while increasing the number sent to Afghanistan. On May 27, Congress voted to fund Obama's surge to the latter country. While the Afghan war has been under increasing criticism from members of both political parties, the shift of focus has brought with it a host of consequences.

    6+ quarters economic growth - sluggish, but growth

    Monthly Private job growth - positive again, versus losing 750,000 per Month with Bush Recession

    Corporate quarterly earnings meeting/exceeding estimates - % need to get higher

    GM reported best quarterly earnings since 2004; GM hired back/hiring 55,000 workers

    GM paying back $Billions of US Debt

    USA investment in GM stock will return PROFITS as it continually gets sold back in the open market. GM IPO just completed. Looks like the USA made the right decision.

    Bush DOW - 7500

    Obama DOW - 10,300+

    GOP LACK of Confidence Poll - 72%

    DEMs LACK of Confidence Poll - 68%

    The beginning of needed Health Care Reform legislation that's been attempted by others for over 30 years, including Reagan, Bush Sr., GW Bush;

    New Financial Regulation Reform to help us not repeat the Recession disasters from the Bush years;

    Credit Card consumer protection act;

    Reinforcement of troops in Afghanistan (I don’t necessarily agree, but it was the right decision which shows his logic/leadership). Also, new troops are almost triple the number Bush put there due to myopic focus on Iraq;

    Withdrawal of US Combat troops from Iraq
