Do you think novels and books will forever be in our lives, or be taken over by motion films in the future?
I personally think that books are the best way to describe a story in detail, but I also have a good opinion on movies because it shows what it looks like in the mind of the author / creator.
So, do you think the written word will always be with us, or be covered by the motion picture?

Yeah, I know the sick feeling as described by one answerer.
And I agree soooo much with the words of another which stated
that there's nothing quite like holding a book in your hands and
reading it. Same goes for newspapers, or at least what newspapers
are/were supposed to be.
Thing is, somehow a seeming culture of near-rampant illiteracy
has become almost "politically correct," and the reason I use
that loathsome term is because it's the "pc" way of book burning.
They simply take the route of having natural intellectual curiosity
"phased-out"--not just by movies (as opposed to films), but with
every imaginable "game" and countless other pointless distractions.
For that matter, there's a plethora of pointless reading matter out
there as well...but thank God (if I may still use that term ? ? ?)
there's also great, great stuff to be found as well.

I think books will always be with us. While there have been good movie adaptations of the books. I have seen some book adaptations of some films and only felt sick watching them. There is no way Hollywood can put out so many 3 hour long movies. You pretty much need that much time to cover half the book. Cutting away from the story just gives the book fan a feeling of betrayal. Besides that, it's fun to picture the character's in your head. I want to pick the character in my head, not feel let down by Hollywood's choice of actor or actress.

Not at all, people did however feel that way when motion pictures were first made. Yet books are still with us and even more popular than ever. That said though, I do believe that in some point in the future actual books will be replaced by reading devices such as kindle. Which is a shame, to me there is nothing like an actual bound book.

I LOVE books...it's my escape when things are tough in my life...books and music. Reading gives the mind a good workout...you can imagine being there whenever there is a really good plot. So, if there are many others like me...there will always be books.

i think it will always be with us cause
a) some one will get bored and decide to write to pass their time
b)people pay all over the world to read books so that fuels the writers and their managers to keep selling/writing
c) im stubborn and will force them to keep making books of they want to stop
d) they helped us evolve why would someone want to take that away?
