How long does it take a really light coat of oil paint to dry?
I touched up a doll's lip paint yesterday and was wondering when I can handle her to do some further restoration.
I did not thin the paint at all. Somebody told me 6 weeks. Is that the truth?

If it was a small area and a thin coat I would say two days at most, usually a canvas can take 2 weeks or so, so I'm assuming it's much less than that amount of paint.

I am assuming you used an enamel paint (oil based). 24 hours is generally more than enough. If it feels tacky, let it sit a little bit longer. Under a heat lamp, or in the sun for a little while will speed up the drying process. Just be careful that it doesn't soften the material.
