what does "jacking in" mean in Gibson's Neuromancer? Any synonym?

    This is when a user in the book essentially connects to the web through a neural transmitter in the base of their skull (think the Matrix) - the user conencts the cable to the port in his head and "jacks in" - or goes online, connects, etc.
