Is a K&N stock air filter worth the cost on a 5.2 v8 engine?

I was considering getting a kn filter to replace my paper filter for my 97' dodge ram. I was thinking a big v8 engine could use a freer flowing filter to suck in air?

Update:

It will cost about $50

yep. youl get slightly better mpg's with slightly better throttle response. you wont feel a big gain in power, maybe a tiny bit. id say its worth it.
