Which Lawn Sprinkler controller do I need?
I have an older manual sprinkler system I'd like to automate. There are 6 zones. To turn on a zone I need to turn a valve at the header and then a valve at the zone. Do all controller accomodate the need to turn two valves to feed one zone? Also it is fed by a well. The feed to the sprinkler system is before the high-low pressure sensor so I need to flush two toilets in the house to get the system calling for the pump to start then the sprinklers work fine until I shut the whole thing down. I guess the controller must be able to tell the pump to start up too, right? Which manufacturer do you suggest and which model of controller? Thanks a lot !!!

Ok first off, get either a Hunter brand controller or a Rain Bird. You are going to need a good quality one, so don't get it at a retail store like Home Depot etc. Buy where contractors buy.
So your controller needs at least 6 stations, and needs to operate with a pump start relay (which is what you are going to need to get to start the pump).
Here are a few controller options:
Here's one pump start relay: http://www.sprinkler.com/psr-22-hunter-pump-start-... buy you need to make sure it will work with your pump.
As far as your main valve, on most systems this valve is a manual valve that is left open most of the time (only shut off when you're doing maintenance, etc) but some of these controllers can also control your main valve.
Are your valves electric or manual. You have to have electric valves to work with an automatic sprinkler controller: http://www.sprinkler.com/lawn-sprinkler-system-par...
