Driving Permit In Texas...?

Okay, so I'm 14 right now, and next February I'm turning 15, can someone please explain to me how long it takes to get the permit and if there is a test to get it (In The state Of Texas). My parents haven't taken the test in 30 something years, and its changed...

The Texas Department of Public Safety issues the learners permit and license.

You can start the process at age 15, providing you have taken or are taking drivers education classes.
