Are you a Classic Rock fan? What about Spooky by Classic IV?

Not sure if this classifies as oldies or classic rock. I like it. You can extend it into a jam song but I prefer to keep it short. I don't want to de-emphasize the lyrics. Kids you have to keep in mind that when the writer wants to ask Spooky to a movie he was probably thinking about a drive in movie. Are any of you old enough to remember drive in movies? There was one a remember off the highway going into Boston and people who drive into each others cars watching the movie.

I remember it very well. Loved the tune.

"Spooky" was originally an instrumental song performed by saxophonist Mike Sharpe (Shapiro), written by Shapiro and Harry Middlebrooks, Jr., which first charted in 1967 hitting #57 on the US pop charts Its best known version was created by The Classics IV when guitarist James Cobb and producer Buddy Buie added lyrics. In 1968, the vocal version of the song reached #3 in the U.S. (Billboard Hot 100) and #46 in the UK.

"Classic Rock" isn't a genre, but an 'era umbrella'.

It covers bands & artists who originated between 1960 - 1979 {some say 1964-1979}, from all sub-genres of Rock.

So yes, 'Spooky' by Classics IV would technically come under that.

And double yes, it is a great song :)

I have both the original and Dusty Springfield's version.

yea I remember them from high school days when AM radio was still king and the kind of classic hot rods that sell in fancy auto auctions were cruising up and down the street.
