can i ruin anything just by taking it apart?

i have a laptop and I need to get to the bios battery,can i dissemble without damaging anything

never took one apart.

    Google the manual for your make/model. Some CMOS batteries are soldered into the motherboard, making replacement difficult☺

    Of course you can if your careful. They do come apart but can be a bit tricky and remembering where all the screws went is the most tricky part.

    Normally the trick getting a laptop to pieces is round the top of the keyboard, the plastic plate that is there between the top of the keyboard and the screen normally will pull off with a little force, this then enables you to remove the keybaord, where there should be a screw to help separate the casing.
