What is the average cost of initial termite treatments?

Would like to compare prices between those in other areas of the U.S. versus our area. We have two houses needing termite treatments. We can actually see the termites already coming inside the house. They explain that they make a hole in each of the bathrooms area floors and inject poison with a high pressure hose. The estimate for one house is $676 and $525 for the other then the price is like $100 or so per year for maintenance. How does that compare to other areas in the US?

That sounds like very poor advice.

    They should either be

1 creating a barrier (poisoning the soil around/under the house) so that termites can't sneak in

2 they should be trying to eliminate the attacking colonies (eg with baits).

In either case, it should cost you a lot more than that. I'd be very wary of any quote under $2,000. This is definitely a case of you get what you pay for and if you don't pay enough for a proper job (consumables and labor) then you won't get one.

You should definitely get some more quotes.

There is no way to average. Way too many variables. Size of house, severity of infestation, area of the country, method used, etc., Get 3 estimates.

    (Less in OH)

It would cost you five times that in California.
