What types of blues music are out there?

I only know two kinds. Urban/Chicago blues and Delta Blues.

Can anyone here educated me about the types of blues that are out there and provide a link as an example for each type?

And are Urban Blues and Chicago blues are the same?

There are a number of sub-genres of blues. Many of them really have few unifying stylistic traits, such as Kansas City Blues, Detroit Blues, etc.

Those that are clearly distinct include:

    Delta Blues -

    Charlie Patton, Spoonful Blues

    Piedmont Blues-

    Blind Willie McTell, Statesboro Blues

    Texas Blues-

    T-bone Walker, T-Bone Shuffle

(electric Texas blues of the 1940's onward was heavily influenced by jump blues, and in turn, heavily influenced West Coast blues, mainly due to the migration of people like T-Bone, Lowell Fulson, Pee Wee Crayton, etc.)

Jump Blues- (actually an offshoot of the small postwar jazz/swing combos)

Amos Milburn, One Scotch, One Bourbon, One Beer

    Classic/Vaudeville Blues

Bessie Smith, I Need A Little Sugar In My Bowl

Chicago Blues actually comprises several styles/period. In addition to the classic Chess period of Muddy, Wolf, Little Walter, etc,, there is also the earlier Bluebird Blues-

    Big Bill Broonzy, Hey, Hey

and the later West Side Blues-

    Magic Sam, Easy Baby

there are other sub-genres, but that ought to keep you busy for awhile ;)

    edit:

Just noticed the last part of your question. Urban/City blues is another of those broad terms that are too vague to have much meaning. Basically, it encompasses all electrified blues that were informed by an urban setting and urban culture. It is not the same as Chicago Blues. All Chicago blues can be called "urban", but not all urban blues can be called Chicago Blues.

There are many types of Blues music and I'll give you my three favourite types:

Country Blues (Uses acoustic guitar and harmonica as the dominant instruments and is musically quite simple, usually sticking to the I IV V of the twelve bar blues but the lyrics are what really make the music)

    Notable Country Blues performers:

    Bob Dylan

    Woody Guthrie

    Lead Belly

    Sonny Terry & Brownie McGhee

    Blind Willie McTell

Delta Blues (Uses mainly acoustic guitar and harmonica but does sometime use electric instruments, the music is more complex than that of Country Blues using open tunings and slide guitar)

    Notable Delta Performers include:

    Robert Johnson

    Son House

    Willie Brown

Chicago Blues (This is the Blues style everybody recognises and is easily confused with jazz for some reason, Chicago style is mainly electric using guitars, bass, drums, piano, harmonica and other wind and brass instruments. Chicago style features mainly bands playing unlike the Country and Delta style.

    Notable perfoerms include:

    Muddy Waters

    John Lee Hooker

    B.B. King

There are other styles such as Peidmont Blues which is mainly fingerpicking on guitar, Blind Willie mcTell is Peidmont as well as Country, I don't know much about Detroit Blues but John lee Hooker is Detroit as well as Delta and Chicago.
