The N, Q and R trains do not go up to 96th St. They swing east north of 57th St and head to Queens.

Take the uptown 1 local (about 18 minutes) or 2 or 3 express (about 13 minutes) from Times Square to 96th St/Broadway.

Uptown (northbound) 1, 2, or 3 go from Times Square to 96th street and Broadway. The 1 is local, the 2 and 3 are express, so the 2 and 3 will be a little quicker than the 1, as all stop at 96th street.

What I told you here is for normal service, not taking into account service changes for track work. Check for information on any construction causing service changes.

    Hope this helps.

Take the uptown (northbound) 1, 2 or 3 train (Red Line on the subway map) from Times Square to 96th Street. The trip take about 10 to 15 minutes.

I hope this information is very helpful.

    Good luck

Not just the #1, but the #2 and #3 stop there as well, since it's an express stop.
