Basic pay for a PFC (E3) is $1706 if you've been in less than 2 years. If you've been in over 2 years, it's $1813. That is the amount for 1 month, but they split it into 2 checks. You'll get hostile fire pay, if in a war zone, which is $225. You get that once a month, on only one pay check. You might get hardship duty pay, but that depends on where you are and what you're doing. That is every check. You get BAH too. You can calculate it here: http://www.defensetravel.dod.mil/perdiem/bah.html That amount is split into 2 checks. If you're married or have children, you'll also get family separation pay. It's $125 every check, or $250 a month. If you're in a war zone, you'll also get some of your taxes refunded back once a month. BAS is $323.87 a month for all enlisted members. They split that into 2 checks as well. You may also get combat or flight pay, depending on your MOS.

Plus deployed to a war zone, would get them $225 per month in combat pay.
