transitive & intransitive verb

d人 都講transitive verb 後面系無preposition之後直接加verb ,而intransitive 後面係有既.先可以加verb

但為什麼有啲transitive verb 後面耍可以加preposition?

e.g.shave

http://hk.dictionary.yahoo.com/search.html?q=1&s=s...

He shaved off his beard.

但shave e個情況 系vt not vi,點解牙?唔係應該係系vi嫁咩

但e.g listen

http://hk.dictionary.yahoo.com/search.html?q=1&s=l...

Each night after dinner we like to listen to the news.

e個情況listen 係vi 我估應該系因為有prep 所以系vi

所以,搞到我好亂 一時vt又可以有prep在後,一時vi又可以有prep在後.

甘點分牙

請解釋清楚thank you.

    首先你的了解是正確的

    v.t.及物動詞是必須有直接受詞,如:I like her very much.(like在這句中就是v.t.)

    而v.i.不及物動詞是不可有直接受詞,若要受詞的話,就要用前置詞(介詞)(preposition)帶出,嚴格來說,那個受詞是介詞的受詞,如:

    I looked at him.(在這句中,look就用作不及物動詞)

    所以,照你現在的理解v.t., v.i.就可以了

    但shave你卻理解上有點錯誤

    首先shave既可用作v.t.也可以用作v.i.

    如:

He hadn't shaved for days.(這句用作v.i. 因沒有直接受詞)

She shaved her legs and underarms.(這句用作v.t. 因有直接受詞)

這討論只是題外話,因為 He shaved off his beard.的shave真是v.t.

    你或許會問,為甚麼v.t.會有off這個介詞?

    這個off並不是介詞,而是副詞(adverb)

    shave off是phrasal verb, phrasal verb可以由動詞+介詞,或動詞+副詞組成

    若由介詞組成的phrasal verb,其介詞必須在受詞之前,如:

    look after yourself

    但若由副詞組成的phrasal verb,其副詞可以置於受詞後,或前

He shaved off his beard或He shaved his beard off也可以

    希望幫到你!

    其實唔好攪到咁亂先...

    總之只要一個verb後面無prep. 佢就係vt

    一個verb 後面有prep. 就係vi...

    有些verb剩係得vi or vt, 有d 就兩個都有...要睇情況...

    vt

    e.g. kill ,因為一定要接觸到某人(殺某人),所以kill永遠都係vt

    He killed the man.

Other example of vt(always): control, trust, eat, drink

    vi

    e.g. listen ,因為英文入面無得就咁listen 某樣野,所以listen永遠都係vi

He is listening to the teacher. 一定要有'to

    Other example of vi(always): rely(on/upon)

    vt or vi

    e.g. get,根據唔同意思會變成vt or vi

Other exmaple of vt or vi: know

vt: He got a letter this morning.

vi: He got in late last night.
