I thought it was in the 70's and I was the youngest at 62. Is this not the seniors R&P section? Oh, my God I'm in the kiddie section.
No, I would quess the age is at 17 to 35. But what surprises me the most is now most of teens on here think they now more about the music I grew up with than I do. And don't get me wrong some of these teens do know a hell of a lot about the earlier years of rock music. And that is one of the reasons I like coming here plus it's one of the few places in the world were young and old share their love for music together. Which would probably not happen outside of R&P, because I find here age does not matter, it's the music that comes first. Here is a song I like to sing as I play guitar. It's called Dirty Old Man, and it's got to do with how were we get old and how the young look at us. So from your point of few whether your young or old to you feel this song, lyrics speaks the truth away from here on R&P? Here are the lyrics.
Well and old man stood on the corner
Watching young folks come his way
And their smiling , youthful faces
Prompted the old man to say,
"How ya' din' Kids? You're looking good,
Sure is a hell of a day"
But they stared and looked him up and down,
And walked upon their way
Well, he shook his head
And ran his fingers through his hair so grey,
And as those kids walked down the street
The heard that old man say.
Well I've been around for eighty summers
Some we're winners and some were bummers
I loved them all
Once I was young and full of fun
Like you had a million dreams, and some come true, ya can't win'em all.
Now I'm old and tired, bent and busted
I'm grey and wrinkled and I can't be trusted
Just a dirty old man.[chorus]
When I look back on my younger years
I shared your hopes, I shard your fears
Yeah, I made that scene
My parents never understood
And I never thought that they ever would
You know what I mean. Chorus
Well, I've done some livin' in this life of mine
I laughed and I loved in the summertime
I remember it well
There were lips to kiss and hands to hold
And I never thought I'd get this old.
But here I am Chorus
Bu you just wait fifty years or so
You'll be standing on the corner with no place to go
Jusk looking around
And if some folks pass you by
Don't say hello, don't even wave "hi"
They'll just put you down
'Cause your old and tired, bent and busted
You're grey and wrinkled, and you can't be trusted
Just a dirty old man.
and it's you guys on there that don't make me feel old, tired and busted. Thank you one and all R&Per's
