It depends what light you are shooting in and how quickly the object focussed moves?
If in dark light and a flash for short range distance is present use it by ajusting the flash distance with intensity with the square root of distance squared inverted?
If in bright light and you dont need a flash, use a faster shutter speed by adjusting the camera for bright light.
If it is in dull light do one of two things, where a tripod is available use it, or use the timer and rest on a ledge if none of these are available here is my dad's favorite trick? Hold your breath lean against a telegraph pole, a tree or whatever and squeeze the trigger of the camera like a gun, practice moving your finger without your hand moving, its a bit like a manual car, waving feet up and down in coordination is a great way to practice gear changes without driving so you use the semi autonomeous memory, subconscious without thinking, chances are all you are doing is poorly coordinating your hand movement, imagine you are keeping your hand still without the camera in it and just squeezing the camera with the finger whilst the rest of the hand stays still. Dad had another favorite trick with this and it was to whilst holding the breath, squeeze the elbows into the sides of his rib cage and focus then shoot all whilst holding the breadth. try it.
One more final piece of advice from me not dad? If you find cammomile puts you to sleep and you need caffiene get off tea and coffee and coke or pepsi but try apple juice instead to stay awake, the caffiene effects the central nervous system, if you have to have it choose decaff, but expect a three week withdrawel, I was the narliest grumpiest person in the world giving it up, but have never been happier using pectin in apples and pineapples whilst also ocasionally having a more milder more gentle green tea always with cammomile, and bye the way Chrysanthenam tea helps sleep at night, get adequate rest this will steady the nerves too!!!
Happy snap hunting, sorry if you are a student of photography or industry professional aging wasnt meant to be sarcastic just fun loving in a clean way?
Mom earnt a degree at Australia's most prestigious art uni majoring in photography and I constantly picked her brain as her greatest fan and worst critic?
