Where are some good places to sit and overlook San Diego, California?
I'm looking for places to hike or drive to, which has a good view overlooking San Diego, CA. Thanks.

The Old Point Loma Lighthouse at the Cabrillo National Monument offers great views of the downtown skyline, San Diego Harbor and the Pacific Ocean. On a clear day you can see all the way to Mexico.
Mount Soledad in La Jolla gives you a great view of Mission Bay
For hiking with a great view of North San Diego County, try Iron Mountain Trail

at the end of Cabrillo Memorial Dr (Point Loma).
the point is about 400' elevation and you get a perfect view of Coronado with the whole city just behind (when the haze complies, that is). since the road is controlled by the Navy, it closes at about 5-6pm daily, however.
