    7 - wx = vx + 1

    Add wx-1 to both sides,

    6 = wx+vx = x(w+v)

    Answer: x = 6/(v+w)

    First move all the x terms on one side and all other to the other so:

    -vx - wx = -7 + 1

    factorise:

    x( -v - w) = 6

    x = 6/(-v-w)
