what does C'est la vie mean?

I think thats how you spell it? Sounds french..

In the beginning of Kristen Williams' song Unsinkable Mollie she says "C'est la vie shout out to Mollie."

So it got me curious ^.^

That's life! It's a Philosophical expression to mean that is the way it is, nobody can change it! There is not much you can do about it, whatever it is s/he's talking about! In other words: accept it! It's a very defeatist expression... It's not optimist.

It is a French phrase that translates to "such is life." It is a phrase usually said when something out of your control happens, and you shrug it off and say "oh well. c'est la vie."
