I admire them as a financially strapped team if a league filled with teams that have way more money, but yet the Pirates still hang in there-but sadly, their fans will abandon them if they keep parting with star players instead of retaining them with contracts.

Not me; but you gotta give those kids credit- keep playing your heart out even though you know you'll never be built to win a championship (unless the owner could find a way to make boo-coo bucks off it) and possibly let go or traded when your contract nears expiration.
