how would you write down the sound of an heart beat? just like " BOOM" means explosion?

how would you write it down in word? the sound of an heart beat, the only thing i could think of was boom boom... boom boom, but that makes it sound to violent and strong... how would you write it?

    haha ... sounds like my friend. .. what about this. What happens when people say that this guy hugs you different than he hugs other girls? And that it's not a friendly hug? And now your heart beats fast too? That's my situation. We're in the same boat, hun
