How do I remove the Google redirect virus?

I have Malwarebytes, McAfee, and HitmanPro 3.5. I have rid my computer of all of the spyware it once had except for this one virus. The virus still allows me to do a Google search (although it takes literally fifteen minutes to load), but all of the links for the search are redirected to spam pages. It is quite annoying. It has also affected Bing and Ask, so I am having a hard time searching things.

Can someone please help me? :(

This virus is one of the biggest causes of frustration because it's extremely difficult to remove. The problem is that this virus just comes onto your PC and changes a few of the files your web browsers use to redirect your search results. Most viruses have applications / files that continually run, making it easy for antivirus programs to identify and remove them. However, the redirect virus is a lot different in that it will just come onto your PC, change a few settings and then make your system redirect your web searches. To remove this virus, you might want to look at a tool called "ComboFix" which you can find here: http://www.personalcomputerfixes.com/spyware/how-t...

    First

click on Start > Run. Type in the following into the open box.

    devmgmt.msc

then Click on OK. This will run Device Manager. In Device Manager,

click on View > Show Hidden Devices.

expand all the devices by clicking on the "Plus" sign. Now try to find

    TDSSserv.sys or clbdriver.sys or oUltraf or seneka.sys,

right click on whatever one you found and select Disable.

make sure that you do not select the Un-Install option

Run a full scan with this

    and remove everything it finds.

Mcafee doesn't work try this good (but unfortunately lengthy) process for removing any virus or malware. Trust me it has never failed.

To do the steps below is completely free.

Get rid of the virus through these steps:

    0. Download CCleaner at http://www.ccleaner.com

    1. Download MalwareBytes [Already Done], Avira AntiVir, Spybot at

    http://www.download.com.

    2.Update them

    3.Restart your computer

    4. Press F8 right when your computer powers up.

    5.Select Safe Mode.

    6. Disable System Restore. (Right click my computer, select properties,

and select system restore tab, then check turn off system restore.)

7.Run CCleaner for cleaning and registry.

8.Do a full scan with everything at once.

    9. Quarantine or remove the threats found.

10.Wait until each program is done quarantining or removing the threats.

    11.Restart the computer normally.

    12. Celebrate if your computer is fixed!

If you can't download the software on your computer regularly then do

steps 3 and 4 then do step 5 but, instead of selecting Safe Mode select

Safe Mode With Networking. Then do steps 0-9. in order while your on safe

    mode with networking.

    Hope it helps!,

P.S. Use Avira instead of Mcafee. If avira gives you any trouble at all just uninstall it and use microsoft security essentials.

almost all malware gets installed with programs you download off the net. audio and video software and plugins for various websites usually contain some form of spyware- therefore the easiest and most effective way of getting rid of redirects is by removing all the installed programs that are not a windows system program.

If you read the link below from bleeping computers, it can be got rid of.

It looks very complicated though, it`s beyond me.

If it were my computer, I would back up anything I wanted to keep, then restore factory settings or format and reinstall. Much the easier option, in my opinion.
