What do you think of the name "Mangler" for my child?

It means wisdom in my native tongue, what do you think of it?

In English, mangler means one who mangles.

    From The Free Dictionary:

    man·gle 1 (mnggl)

    tr.v. man·gled, man·gling, man·gles

    1. To mutilate or disfigure by battering, hacking, cutting, or tearing. See Synonyms at batter1.

    2. To ruin or spoil through ineptitude or ignorance: mangle a speech.

[Middle English manglen, from Anglo-Norman mangler, frequentative of Old French mangoner, to cut to bits; possibly akin to mahaignier, to maim; see mayhem.]

I do not think you want to name your child Mangler. Most English speakers will think it is the alias of a psychotic serial killer. I'm sure your native language has other words or names that do not mean such horrible things in English.

If you think you can put up with the kid throwing fits about not wanting to go to school on account of the other school kids are bullying him for having a strange, and easily made fun of, name. Then go for it. But if I was a kid I would absolutely hate having a name like that.

If this is part of your native tongue, Just remember you child will have to live with it. It may fit just fine.

if your child is a dog, then go for it!

but seriously other people may not know the meaning behind the name and you won't be there to explain it 100% of the time.

Use it as a middle name!

Depends on the last name. And the middle name should be Allowicious

I'm pretty sure that this means "brave warrior" in Slappy's language.

    Slappy is the best troll!

Children aren't that wise, I don't understand why you would name him that. Maybe you should name him something like Little Boy or Baby Boo

Ugh, that just makes me think of a kid pulverising other kids. No offense but, that isn't my idea of wisdom.
