Vampire culture, why the dramatics?

There is indeed a subculture in our society who call themselves vampires in that they feel they need to consume blood or feed off of one's energy. This I can understand. What I'm trying to understand is why these vampires feel the need to file their teeth, file their nails to a point, and where costume contact lenses year round. At least where I live, this seems to be the norm. If you're really a vampire why do you have to make a spectacle of yourself? The freaky halloween **** has nothing to do with a sensitivity to light or the craving for blood. I met a few vampires who all slept in homemade coffins on occasion and I just wanted to laugh. It seems that they are just trying to re-enact ancient myths or a character in an Anne Rice novel. Why the need for dramatics?

sorry, it's late

they're not really vampires if they personally have to file their own teeth personally i thing they are going through a phase or have a phycological issue. If their are actually vampires i imagine they would keep a low profile not make a spectacle of them selves. Also you can't drink uncooked blood without throwing up so i very much doubt their is any such thing as vampires

These people have a fetish or interest for this.

    They're just for show.

The only vampires that are real, are the ones who were actually serial killers. It is an offense.

Novels that are decent, such as Anne Rices' series, are worth reading. But things like Twilight just take it too far, and too stupid.

Hon, I can assure you that I don't file my teeth or nails or wear costume contact lenses. Here's a tip-Actual vampyres actually HATE those retards that created the image of vampyres being the way that society thinks that they are. I'd much rather kill the bastards that created Twilight and Dracula than prove the stereotype that vamps are psychotic creatons right.

Any vamp who's being dramatic like that most likely ISN'T a vamp.

Thumbs down me all you want, guys, for sharing my opinion. You don't have to believe me, and I know that most of you won't. Hell, I really don't care right now. I don't need to prove myself to those on the internet.

The people who appear that way are mostly Lifestylers, who dress the part for aesthetics.

I am a 23 year old Psi Vampire, i don't have "fangs" i don't dress in black, i don't wear contacts, my hair is not black, I am a completely normal person, who could be your school teacher, neighbour, or any other unremarkable person you pass on the street.

That's nothing. There is a fetish for almost everything you can think. I guess to them, the 'dramatics' are arousing. It's like role play.

Because people need attention and are fake.

This isn't a new fad, though. It's just getting more popular thanks to Stephanie Meyer and all the cookie cutter vampire literature coming out thanks to her success with Twilight.
