"Tell Me Why" by Painter...

'Painter' only released one LP, and the song I've featured above is one of the lighter numbers from that album.
A bit of info on the band...
They were an early 70's Canadian group from the cities Calgary and Edmonton...with roots going back to the 60's psychedelic band 'The 49th Parralel'. Painter's style was much in the same vein as April Wine or BTO. Eventually they evolved into the mid-late 70's hard rock band 'Hammersmith'. Their drummer 'Bob Ego' later married Sally Zildjian of the Zildjian cymbal family, and later became a key member of the Sabian Cymbal management team when that Canadian company broke the U.S. market during the mid 80s.
Painter's guitarist, Danny Lowe developed a three-dimensional recording technology in Calgary Canada, which has found its strongest application in the world of video gaming, but its roots were strictly rock ’n’ roll.
In 1982, Danny experienced what he called "an industrial accident" while placing 14 microphones in a sound studio. In playing back the recording made that day, he discovered he had inadvertently created an auditory illusion that he was surrounded by sound. The effect resembled how the human ear actually hears.
Over the next eight years, he and electro-technician John Lees worked together to fine-tune the system. In 1986, the pair formed a partnership with Larry Ryckman, a former Calgary real estate developer, and formed Archer Communications Inc.
"QSound" was patented in 1990, and the recording system was quickly embraced by music artists such as Pink Floyd, Sting, Madonna, INXS, Paula Abdul, Peter Gabriel, Phil Collins, Julian Lennon, Wilson Phillips and Luther Vandross, to name a few.
BQ: Yes I remember them, and I like the song. From the same album, 'Static' and 'Top Of The World' were also cool.
I still own the albums "Planet P" and "Pink World" on vinyl. His solo albums from the early 80's, "In the Absence of the Cat", "Tony Carey", and "Yellow Power" were pretty good too. I haven't heard them in years though...
Of course I loved his work with 'Rainbow' also :)
Edit -
A recommendation for you...
Tony Carey's replacement during the late 70's in 'Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow' was Canadian keyboardist David Stone. If you enjoy Tony's "Planet P" stuff, I think you'd probably like David's work with the mid 70's Toronto prog band 'Symphonic Slam'. They also featured guitarist Timo Lane, who is credited as being the first to ever play a synthesizer guitar. Timo hooked up six separate synthesizers to his Les Paul guitar. Each string had its own synthesizer that could be set up separately. A really cool sounding album if you can find it. Must have been reissued on CD I would think.

"Yesterday" by the Beatles
Yesterday
All my troubles seemed so far away
Now it looks as though they're here to stay
Oh, I believe
In yesterday
Suddenly
I'm not half the man I used to be
There's a shadow hanging over me
Oh, yesterday
Came suddenly
Why she
Had to go I don't know
She wouldn't say
I said
Something wrong now I long
For yesterday
Yesterday
Love was such an easy game to play
Now I need a place to hide away
Oh, I believe
In yesterday
Why she
Had to go I don't know
She wouldn't say
I said
Something wrong now I long
For yesterday
Yesterday
Love was such an easy game to play
Now I need a place to hide away
Oh, I believe
In yesterday
