Afterlife is remotely possible, which is another way of saying it is highly unlikely. The Ancient Greeks taught that people where made up of a body, a mind, and a soul. The body and mind could decay and eventually disappear from existence. The soul, however, would be eternal. So if you believe in the existence of a soul, you are likely to believe in an afterlife. But it is just as simple for those of us who do not see true evidence for the existence of the soul -- so the reality of afterlife is highly questionable.
