besides的用法

All students in the class passed the exam, besides John.

Update:

Update 2:

All students in the class passed the exam, besides John. (X)

All other students in the class passed the exam, besides John. (O)

All students in the class passed the exam except John. (O)

    1) All要搭配except; 若要與besides搭配, all要加other.

    2) besides = in addition to

I don't know where she is, nor can I reach her by mobile phone.

例: You cannot bring a dog in, and no other pet can you do.

    John

All students in the class passed the exam, besides John.

I have a bad headache, besides, i have to work overtime tonight.
