So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him ; male and female created he them .

Ch.2

[16] And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:

[17] But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

mayest是甚麼用法?

eat of 是否等於eat?

請問哪裡找的到thereof之類的文言conj.的比較?

wherein之類的文言關代比較?

文言英文文法與現代英文文法有很多不同.

in the image of

God created he him ;

現代英文文法是 in the image of God he created him.

male and female created he them .

現代英文文法是male and female he created them.

[17] But of the tree of the knowledge

of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of

it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

eat 不等於eat of. eat it 是吃它. eat of it 是吃從它出來的. 這裡是樹上的果子.

其他thereof, wherein, 等等在這個link 有些example.
