Thoughts on Stone Temple Pilots' new self-titled album?
In my opinion, it's a solid album. Not as great as Purple, but a sharp, well-produced return after an extended hiatus. It reminds me of Them Crooked Vultures' album in the sense not every song stands out in and of itself, but the album's overall attitude, drive, and good nature is difficult to resist. The songs which do stand out as particularly memorable are "Between the Lines," "Hickory Dichotomy," "Hazy Daze," "First Kiss on Mars," and "Maver."

It's an okay album. I will add it to my growing collection.
Half the album was okay...the other half I didn't care for. To me, it is one of those albums you put in the cd player as an easy listen. Something where you want to listen to good music, but don't have to feel the need to sing every song...if that makes any sense...
I much prefer the Core and Purple days myself...
