The term "long board" is of course relative. The average SUP is about 30% larger than your average long board. However, if you are 4 feet tall and way 90 pounds, you could probably make do with a long board (9'0" or more) is a substitute for an SUP. But in general, long boards aren't long, wide or buoyant enough top be used as an SUP.
