curious - you may be pleasantly surprised if the "spots" on your pancreas are found to be benign. People, especially some who have been heavy or binge alcohol drinkers have belly pain from bouts of acute pancreatitis. With this, some tissue in the pancreas is damaged so that pancreatic enzymes leak into the nearby fat which is damaged, allowing the body to leave "spots" where calcium is deposited in the damaged fatty area to show "spots" on X-rays = evidence of chronic pancreatitis with calcium damaged "spots." There are also a number of benign conditions, including some tumors or cysts, which can be found in the liver that are not cancer. Further workup, perhaps with a tissue biopsy of the liver mass may be needed for an accurate diagnosis. Hang in there and keep hoping for a benign outcome.
