That's right. So please everyone, when discussing economic theories, do not mention about the deaths because we're just going to bring this up.

What kind of idiotic drivel is this? What is it supposed to mean? Where did you get these numbers and how do they possibly relate to capitalism? Anyone can make up a list, especially one that has no basis or function. Why don't you use your time for something useful and meaningful like getting good grades in high school?

Theories don't kill people. Capitalists and Communists might kill people though. Why is economic survival of the fittest looked down upon here? I'd rather live in the United States as one of the capitalism-survivors than in China as one of the communism-survivors.

Fool Nazi Holocaust was not 12,000 and Capitalism had nothing do to with most deaths not even remotely close. Quit posting false inflamitory ideas that will only create an American Holocaust. The new generations has nothing to do with the past and they want a more tighter union with the world.

Capitalism never forced anyone to do anything, like communism. Capitalism leaves ethical decisions up to the individual. Communism leaves ethical decisions up to a few government officials, to control every facet of the citizens life. No human being should have the power to make the kind of decisions on which groups of citizens live, and which citizens die, like in communism.

Yes, but communism never existed, it was really state capitalism. So you might as well add the 100 million to the capitalism death toll.

    @Phil

The holocaust was done by companies. They provided all the resources like the gas. Swiss banks stored the goods. All business cares about is profit, so of course they are going to sell their products of death.

Everything Meowsers just said is an outright lie.

    Yes, no doubt.

We think of the evil empire, about how communism killed millions.

What you show here is accurate and true, capitalism and its interests provoke bloody wars.

    Communist Death Toll

Nazis were Socialist (National German Socialist Party) -12,000,000

Occupation was usually Imperialistic, where the state protected large companies, so Socialist - around 70 million of your numbers

How were the World Wars Capitalist? That's the dumbest thing I'veeee ever heard. - 76,000,000

Children killed by all those things you said = about 1/2 billion. Exxon donates to many charities, along with mosquito nets, which prevent malaria, which is a big killer.

I've lived in Singapore. This is a Capitalist Nation, very wealthy. 40 years ago it was as poor as dirt. Capitalism pulls people OUT of poverty, Socialism nudges people back into it. Corrupt Governments in Africa are not Capitalist, maybe if they were they'd be better off. Next time, do some research.

So far I've removed 650,000,000 million from the list. Want to go on? Slave Trade. Hmmm. Not really Capitalist. This reduces competitiveness, which is what Capitalism is all about. -150,000,000.

800,000,000 million down, 200,000,000 million to go. But wait... Most of those are SOCIALIST atrocities... which means... Capitalism has killed twice as many people in twice as much time as communism, but Socialism takes the cake.

However, I haven't looked up most of this stuff, and chances are, it doesn't actually add up to a billion, and some are stupid. US bombing of Iraq water supply? That's not Capitalism, that's simply war measures, it was not a Capitalist war, otherwise, why would Britain, land of Socialism, join in?

American Revolution? That's about FREEDOM, we were fighting SOCIALISTS. SO, it goes to both marks. Do you really still want to argue?

    Edit:

    Native American Genocide.

Really? So now Manifest Destiny is somehow Capitalist? That Colonialism, which is completely different. I'd even call it socialist. So look, now capitalism has now killed just as many as communism, if you did your facts right. Which I doubt, based on what you've done so far. And, taking a second look, now I see that Capitalism has only killed about 30-40 million based on your figures. But Pol Pot should be taken off. No self respecting Capitalist would fund a COMMUNIST! The people in Ireland were poor not, I believe, because of Capitalism, but because their rights had been restricted because of their religion. So bye bye to that one. FDR actually extended the Great Depression with his liberal ideas, so we should take that off. By golly, now there's only about 5 million deaths up there that I can't disprove because I don't know much about.

Those are made-up numbers not even attributable to capitalism. Irish potato famine? Pol Pot a CIA puppet? Please... This all left-wing conspiracy theory stuff and bogus numbers used to promote socialism to the historically ignorant.

So go ahead, show us whatever nutjob website you found this on.

Where there is capitalism, there is freedom.

Every time Communism has been practiced, those in power have systematically MURDERED dissidents.

To even try to compare the two is utterly ridiculous.
