X is a continuous random variable with probability density function f(x) = 0.5x, 0 < x < 2.?
What is the value of the number, m, for which P(X < m) = 0.5?
Can somebody help me with this question. Thanks

Integrate the function relative to x...
f(X) = 0.25x^2 [0 --> a]
so f(X) = 0.5 therefore
a = sqrt(2) = 1.4142 (e)
