    Google it.

There was a big controversy about it being a cop killer, that it could penetrate vests, that it could hurt medical people because it is sharp. There are other ammos out there that are just as good or better so the loss is no big deal.

However, I do have one box of 50 in 9 mm as a collector's item. LOL

Because Winchester got a load of bad publicity from the media about it being a cop killer. It functions no different than any other ammo. Ammo is made to kill. After discontinuing this product they replaced it with Winchester Ranger SXT. This ammo is not illegal and you can probably find it online.

Because people with no understanding of firearms got their panties in a twist over wildly overblown reports of its magical lethality, and it became more politically expedient for Winchester to drop the "Evil Black Talon" and start selling other ammo with less objectionable names that do essentially the same thing.

They couldn't sell it? It was a gimmick? People thought things about it that weren't accurate at all?

At any rate, their current production Ranger and SXT ammo is better. Black Talon is a little dated anymore.

It's only purpose is to kill humans.
