Are you Nigerians proud of Taio Cruz?
Just wanted to know cuz of how all the Senagalese were like "Aye yo, Akon is from Senegal!" when he got big. Do people like his music in Nigeria or not?

Taio Cruz is half Nigerian & half Brazilian, was born & raised in London and has no Nigerian culture. he is not as popular like when it comes to other hip-hop/R&B musicians like Beyonce, Rihanna, Kanye West, Jay-Z appeal over there. So in general he is not popular at all in Nigeria but I think they heared his new single. Plus Nigerian hip-hop/R&B musicians like D'banj, 2 face Ibidia, Psqaure are much more popular & known then Taio Cruz in Nigeria. Last but not least Nigerian traditional & new age music is more popular and primary in Nigeria; other music is popular secondarily in Nigeria, especially with the new generation of Nigerians. The singer Sade is from Nigeria & has permanent popularity in Nigeria but Taio Cruz....well let me put it this way he is 80% less popular then famous musicians that come from Nigeria like Sade. So to conclude the answer to your question his music is heard there with a little appeal but directly I don't hear Nigerians reping him or saying they are proud of him, many don't know he is half Nigerian or know who he is in the first place.
here's the New age(non-traditional) Nigerian singers I hear Nigerians say they are proud of:
p.s. personally I'm not a fan of him, he seems like a one hit wonder British singer to me, I'd rather listen to Coldplay or Estelle

I'm Nigerian but I've never heard heard one of his songs, although I've seen his **** on itunes. I don't really care for him. He seems like a really dumb person.
