You're not the only one. I was especially like this as a little kid. I would listen to the car radio that my parents had on and had no idea what they were saying, yet I still liked the songs. Then I started getting really into all kinds of music, even foreign stuff. Ironically I think that's when I actually started paying attention to lyrics, because I was trying to learn the language from the music! Today I listen to the song, but I don't pay deep deep attention to the lyrics. My friends sometimes make fun of my for this and say "don't you even know what that song is about??" But mainly I'm looking for a song with a good tune-- a good melody-- something creative, beautifu, fun, or memorable. But when I really like a song I usually look up the lyrics in the end and many times I have a whole new appreciation for what I'm listening to (or if the lyric suck, it turns me off lol). A lot of my friends just listen to music because they like the lyrics and they feel that the words of the song have personal meaning to them. I feel that too, once and awhile, but mainly, I'm just looking for a good tune!
