http://live.pirillo.com/ – Alex has called in with a problem regarding Adobe Acrobat Pro 8. Unfortunately, it’s not one I’ve heard of or come across. It may be a situation where he has to wait for an update from Adobe.
Every time Alex starts up his newly purchased Adobe Acrobat Professional 8, it will give him an error message that “Adobe has encountered a serious error….”. He clicks out of it, and the program closes. Then… a Windows memory error comes up! He’s tried uninstalling, but it won’t let him. An update to version 8.1 is when the errors started, and rolling back actually made it worse.
I advised Alex to try running it under Windows Compatibility mode. In order to do this, you locate the actual program .exe, and right click it. Choose “Properties” and then in the “Compatibility” tab, you can choose to have the program run under a different Operating System. Now of course, it doesn’t actually use a different OS. What Compatibility Mode does is to make the program THINK it’s using something else. Unfortunately, this didn’t work for Alex, either.
I have a feeling he’s going to have to wait for Adobe to come out with a fix for this problem. Thankfully, Alex had the presence of mind to send Adobe a lengthy email telling them in detail what the problem is. If any of you have ideas, or have seen this problem before, please let us know. Drop in the chat room, send me an email, or leave me a video response!
