    Not really.

    If you are out in the forest, or your backyard, that will likely be accurate. In your home 10 feet might be more appropriate *on average*. If you are in a more sterile environment, like a clean office, then you will likely have to go much farther. If you are in an airplane, you might be miles from one.

    Eh, I wouldn't say always, but "often" sounds about right. There are a butt-load of spiders in the world, and they live in all sorts of places, usually never get noticed by people, and usually never have any sort of interaction with people, either.
