Why has the United Nations Human Rights Council been ineffective in dealing with the genocide in Darfur?
I'm having trouble putting this into words. >.<

Sudan does not want them there, and the UN has to have the agreement of Sudan do act.
Also no one wants to send troops there. If any western forces send troops there, they will be a magnet for every Islamic terrorist from Cairo to Pretoria.Source(s): http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2006/sep/17/sudan.... http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2007/dec/31/sudan....

Maybe, if the UN Security Council had a unified front on the issue of Darfur

No one takes the UN seriously because they mostly just make statements but dont take any action.
