At what time will the world "end" on Dec 21, 2012?

Ok so i'm watching this Nostradamus: 2012 on the history channel. Personnaly i don't care what happen on that day, because honestly if it is the end of the world, we can't stop it. Is not like we can jump on a space shuttle and go to Mars. So i really don't care what happen. However, i wanted to know from the believers or from anybody, at what precise time will the world end? At 12 midnight?

Update:

Again, i don't believe on 2012. But if it happens i don't care at all. It happen it happens

The time picked in the hoax is 11:11 Universal Time (what we used to call GMT), which is the same as 6:11 a.m. Eastern Standard Time (New York for example)

    5:11 a.m. Central

    4:11 a.m. Mountain, etc.

The date comes from a lie invented in the late 1980s by some charlatan (called José) who was trying to sell a book about HIS understanding of old calendars used in Central America. To make his book "interesting" he claimed to be a reincarnated Mayan priest (he is not, he was born in Minnesota) and he invented the lie about the Long Count calendar ending.

The calendar does not end, it merely passes a round figure (it does so every 394 years and a quarter -- last time was in 1618).

As for Nostradamus, he never wrote anything about 2012. Ever.

In fact, he never wrote anything that applied after the year 1600. His writings were about the Wars of Religion as they ravaged France (and turned two sides of the Royal Families against each other). He died between the second and the third war and his "predictions" about the third war were about the War of Religion that pitted the Huguenots (Calvinists) and the Catholics in France.

    ---

Whenever they deal with 2012, the Hysteria Channel participates in the Big 2012 Hoax.

    ---

The charlatans who created the Big 2012 Hoax are the same ones who had predicted the end of the world for May-June 2003 (when their Planet X was supposed to pass too close to Earth).

Their next date will likely be in 2017 and the one after that will be September 20, 2020 (an important date in yet another ancient calendar).

The apocalypse never happened in 2012. It turns out that december 21, 2012 was not the end of the world but instead the beginning of a new era

The woo-woos say 11:11 Universal (Greenwich) Time. This was originally determined to be the time of the solstice and 11:11 sounds good to the numerologists. Unfortunately for them, the US Naval Observatory have updated their website to take account of the latest estimate for leap seconds and the solstice has now been determined to take place at 11:12 UT: http://aa.usno.navy.mil/data/docs/EarthSeasons.php

This is bad news for the numerologists. Perhaps they could go to Central Europe where it will be 12:12 on 12/21/12. Of course, the moment of the solstice passes unnoticed by the majority of people every year and 2012 will be no different.

So, on 21st December 2012, you should wait for 11:11 UT (or even 11:12) when nothing in particular will happen.

    Footnote:

Every doomsday prediction for 2012 is bunk, of course.

Didn't you see the disclaimer in the beginning of that show that the whole thing is fictional? Nostradamus wasn't an artist and all the drawings they found referring to 2012 we never produced by him, yet "Nostradamus: 2012" leads you to believe they were.

So, if Nostradamus never mentioned 2012, then why bother even making a dog and pony show about him? Simply because some people will not only believe it, but will post questions about it on Yahoo.

    You been punk'd.

The world won't end in 2012, only the chronically gullible believe that.

hey buddy, actually a calendar was designed by the ancient people called Gregorian calendar, and they had prepared it only till december 21, 2012! that's it. nothing much serious in that. and somebody made use of it in making a film too and made a big way through the red carpet! so next time you meet anyone with such fears you are gonna give this answer right?
