most burners use -r and -rw are you sure your burner can use +r and +rw.

    OK try new burning software.

How to get Ashampoo Burning Studio 2010 for FREE

    1. Get the serial legitimately.

Now, you normally need to register your email address to Ashampoo but I tried with 2 different emails and it seems that the serial is universal (I got the same key on 2 different email addresses). So you don’t need to register but instead, just use this key: BS10A5-77F716-F0730D.

If the key no longer works, I guess you really have to register for yourself then.

    2. Download Ashampoo Burning Studio 2010 trial : http://download661.mediafire.com/jfgtu1yt9axg/tzmd...

    3. Install and use the key on step 1 to fully unlock the product.

if that still does not work

see if you can reinstall the firmware from the manufacturers website.

Definitely Not; CD's cannot burn DVD's, but DVD Burners can happily burn both DVDs and CDs. The method of storage, capacity, etc will not be affected. As for how long it takes, that depends on your specs for your DVD Burner; however most dvd burners are capable of burning CD speeds of about 48x which is quite fast.

1.-First you have to make sure that you have a working DVD RW.

Update the driver's from dell's website at: http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/

2.-Then, make sure that your DVD RW software is compatible with your drive.

3.-Make sure that your dvd+rw and dvd+r disks are compatible with your DVD RW software, and with your drive. If you are trying to copy to an incompatible format it will appear as "no disc is inserted"

4.Check the drive's reader to make sure it's clean and free from obstructions.

    5. Finally, make sure that your drive is indeed a DVD RW and not a CD RW or CD RW Combo drive, in which case your blank DVDs will not be recognized and will show as no disc is inserted"

  • Are you sure your laptop is equipped with a burner drive and not just a drive that reads discs. If it is a burner try DVD-R or DVD-RW formats as these tend to have better compatibility with burners, especially if your burner is a little older.

I would say is time to replace your dvd drive or use an external like this :
