a real life application of Einsteins theory of relativity. Is there any chance that there are reasons other than Einsteins theory of relativity responsible for atomic clocks in orbit running faster than earthbound clocks, like maybe the lack of gravity being responsible for the reactions inside an atomic clock happening at a slightly faster pace than on earth, rather than time passing faster in orbit ?
What about conventional clocks ? Was a time discrepancy observed for conventional clocks, one on earth and one in the orbit synced before take off ?
And finally is the time discrepancy the same regardless what method is used to measure time ? Is the time discrepancy between an earthbound atomic clock and an atomic clock in orbit the same as for a conventional clock, so that it can be deemed highly unlikely that 2 clocks working with a different mechanism to measure time are affected at the same rate by the lack of gravity due to physical impacts on their inner workings and therefore the equal discrepancy must be due to Einsteins theory of relativity ?
