A normal working situation is ongoing. A project is an additional piece of work with a planned start and end date.
Under a normal working situation, positions of similar expertise are grouped together in each department. The lines of reporting are rather formal. A project team is multi-disciplinary. Team members with different expertise from different departments work together. The set-up is less formal.
