Perhaps Humans aren't actually the ones made in God's image, perhaps the jellyfish are. Then again, God is how we each perceive him to be so... It's yet another example of sheer Human arrogance, to assume such a thing as intelligence sets them apart from the rest of the world.
And now for the bonus question: When/if man invents the technology to make Humans immortal, most if not all religious groups will be up in arms against it (for some reason, they'd prefer to continue praying for an everlasting afterlife than swallow their pride and let science do it in this life time) and most probably ruin it one way or another for everybody else. That way, the only chance at immortality would be to join their number and read their book. I apologise if you think my answer seems blunt or damning, but we Ogres do not sugar-coat our words, we say what we think.
