I think it is more like a plant growing. Doing good is being in the sunshine and growing. Doing bad or neglecting things we should do is like putting the plant in the shade or even completely covering it so the cannot reach it. I think the state of our souls is the tally sheet.

Religions like Catholicism, Islam etc. are different than God. God is God. Religions can be man made traditions, and act wrongly in the name of God. So if you attribute people killing in the name of God as a body count of God, then you are incorrect. God only gives life. He can take it away. The wages of sin is death. Jesus paid the wage for us by his death, and ressurection, so that if we believe in Him we can have eternal life. So God gives life by giving the life of his only son. He gives life by creating us. But if we sin we lose our life. Satan can deceive people that think they are godly and religious and make them kill innocent people like Islamic terrorists. In the past some religions have killed people that disagreed with thier religion or violated man made rules. Many people have been martyred for just owning or trying to print/distribute Bibles. Hitler had millions of Jews killed for just being Jews - God's chosen people. Sin entered the world when Satan deceived Adam and Eve, so maybe the body count of all that die is from sin, and Satan who wants to kill, and destroy, and take away the joy.

No, it doesn't matter because you are not saved by your works, you are saved by God's grace. If you were saved by how much good you do, not a single person would get into Heaven. It is God's free gift! All you have to do is accept it!

it's not how much you do that qualifies as good or bad...it's your motives and your heart while doing them...

think of the biblical story of the poor widow who gave 2 pennies while other church members gave thousands...those two pennies represented everything that poor woman owned in the world...while the rich were merely giving a small portion of their material wealth...

What a shallow, petty view of a deity.
