How reliable are Rolls-Royce's?
Specifically a Silver Spur (Silver Spirit) from the '80s.
And I heard that they (Rolls Royce's) are (or were) hand-built. Is this true? If so, which ones?

Rolls Royce was and is hand built. It is the epitome of car making. As for reliability, they don't cost an arm and a leg for nothing.

The best built and most reliable car built anywhere. That is a world wide professional opinion. The cost of parts are not cheap, but they do last a very long time. Far longer than any other car's parts, and they come with warranty to back them up too. The most comfortable and dependable car on the road. You can buy cheaper luxury, but you can not buy a better vehicle. Remember, in Europe, the Fords and Chev's are expensive, and the Mercedes and BMW's are the cheaper, affordable family cars. Its a North American thing and mostly an American thing to consider them top of the line cars. But their parts are very expensive too, and they are not nearly as well built or even half as dependable as a Rolls. They rank right up there with the Fords and Chev's and Chrysler's. No worse, but no better, but cost a lot more to buy, run and maintain. If you have the means, the Roller is the car!

If you've got the money to buy the car, repairs shouldn't be a problem.
