# How to find margin of error for Statistics class using TI-84?

n=550

x=220

95% confidence

I need the margin of error for these above values. Please tell me the steps to find them with the TI-84 calculator. Thanks.

Okay!

E=Za/2 (squareroot (p^ x q^ / n))

So...

p^ = x/n = 220/550 = .4

q^ = 1 - p^ = 1 - .4 = .6

Za/2 = .95 + .5/2 = .975

*Go into you calculator 2nd > VARS > 3 invNorm > .975 > ) > ENTER = 1.96

So...

.4*.6 = .24

.24/550 = .0209

squareroot ANS

multiply by 1.96

E=.0409 Ta Da!
