Without a doubt, At WrestleMania 25, Shawn Michaels was unsuccessful in defeating The Undertaker and ending Undertaker's undefeated streak. When the match won the 2009 Slammy Award for Match of the Year, Shawn Michaels told in his acceptance speech that he could still defeat The Undertaker at WrestleMania and challenged him to a rematch. A month later, The Undertaker, then the World Heavyweight Champion, made his reply and refused a rematch. The refusal saw HBK more obsessed about facing the Undertaker at the WrestleMania, attacking referee Charles Robinson and SmackDown general manager Theodore Long. At Elimination Chamber, Michaels sneaked into Undertaker's Elimination Chamber match for the World Heavyweight Championship and gave him some Sweet Chin Music, enabling Chris Jericho to defeat The Undertaker and win the World Heavyweight Championship. On the following night, The Undertaker changed his mind and accepted the rematch but with one condition, that if Michaels loses, he would have to retire. Michaels accepted, noting that if he can't end the streak, there's no reason why his career should continue. Two weeks later, Michaels and The Undertaker agreed on another additional stipulation, that the match will have no disqualifications and no count-outs. So at WrestleMania 26, it will be Shawn Michaels vs The Undertaker in a Career vs Streak Match and the match will also be No Disqualifications. This match is definitely going to be a showstopping performance by both men, but who will be the one to prevail in the classic match.

    Most definitely :)

    Come on its:

Shawn Michaels, The Icon, The Headliner, The Mainevent, The Showstopper, The Heartbreak Kid, Mr Wrestlemania and a Future Hall Of Famer

    VS

Undertaker, The Dead Man, The Phenom, The Lord of Darkness, The American Bad ***, and also a Future Hall of Famer.

How can this match not be anticipated?

After last year, everyone cannot wait to see if these legends can top their previous match!

Also, Shawn's amazing career is on the line, along with Undertaker's astonishing streak!

    I can barely wait!

Tonight we are gonna see history made either way! :)

I don't know about that. Every Wrestlemania has at least one very anticipated match up. Hogan vs Andre the Giant at Wrestlemania III would be my pick for the most anticipated match up. Others would be Hogan vs Ultimate Warrior at Wrestlemania 6 because that was the first time that it was face vs face and Heavyweight champion vs Intercontinental champion. Also any time Rock faced Austin at Wrestlemania it was heavily anticipated. So, I think the Shawn Michaels vs Undertaker match is certainly up there, I think maybe it's in the top 10.

I think wwe should put this match as the main event. Meaning that it should be the last match on the card. The main events should be Bret vs Vince and Undertaker Vs Shawn Micheals. I don't think Cena and Batista is going to be as important as the undertaker vs shawn micheals match. And I don't really like how the storyline with Edge and Jericho started, it started too soon, and Jericho was not champion long enough in this angle. I think that the championship matche storylines needed a bit more time to develope.

I don't think Shawn is going to win. I like Shawn Micheals but I know that he will not defeat the undertaker. It's possible Shawn could be retiring in secret who knows? I think undertaker is going to always win at Wrestlmania. But then again Shawn may defeat him who knows. I doubt it.... Sorry Shawn micheal fans....lmao

yes, think about it Biggest streak vs Biggest superstar in history and one has to go down its either shawn retires if he loses or the undertaker's streak ends if he loses..

that's something new in this year's sports entertainment and its a match everyone can't wait i think it should a main event!

yes based on whats a stake it is

    but we all know wwe

they will do some crap to ruin the match

and if taker wins i doubt shawn is really gone

    just part of storyline

but if it was for real that he would have to end his career than this match could possibley be one of the best

  • 1 decade ago

I believe it is. Shawn was the closest to beating Taker and everyone wants to know if "Mr. Wrestle-mania" can beat the Phenom

It has surpassed Andre/Hogan and Rock/Hogan

We better not get a dirty finish. JR says that it will go on last!

I think so. This WM doesn't really have that many matches to look forward to besides HBK vs Taker.
