Well we thought we had a name...?

For a little girl. we liked Anya Lynnae Summer O'Brien. but then someone made a comment about it sounding like "on ya" and ever since then thats all i hear when i say the name.

another name we liked was Ayla (like A-lah, yes like star wars) and we also liked Avy (like A-vee)

but we want more options. we like a names that ARENT common and have a feminine sound to them.

any suggestions?

middle names would help too.

thanks

First off Ayla isn't in star wars that's Layla, and I like it without the 'L' ! Nice choice!

Layla I heard someone say "hey i wanna lay ya layla" once and that ruined it for me (so i know how you feel about Anya)

But the Ayla takes away that problem and I really like that name alot!

Have you thought about the name Anya pronounced like "Ann-yah" instead of "on-yah"?

I wanted to name my daughter Anya (said "Ann-yah") but my husband doesn't like "Anne" names.

How about the name Ada ? Said "A-dah"

    Hope I helped!

Aurora, would make a cute name.

    Ava (A-vuh)

    Abri (Aw-bree) (Aubree)

    Aidah (A-duh)

    Annelise

Check out http://babynamesworld.parentsconnect.com/ The advanced search could help you out a lot too. I use the sight for my writing. I think Aurora is a very unique name that isn't WAY out there. Could always use 'Rora' or 'Rory' for a nick name too.

Andrea -- love this. it is very uncommon. and very feminine, IMO. plus you can choose to either pronounce it an-dree-ya or an-dray-ah. Either way is pretty.

Adelyn -- not as common as Adeline. But I think it is prettier. Still very feminine. IMO

Ainsley -- Love this, but most people hate it. I think it is beautiful. uncommon and feminine.

Áine. It's Gaelic, meaning 'radiance'. It is pronounced 'awn-ya'.
