will fha pass a house that has a basement bedroom that doesn't have opening windows?
it does have a doorway outside the bedroom that goes outside
what if we don't plan to use the bedroom as a bedroom.. we are planning to use it as an office, but it is listed as a bedroom... would that make a difference?

Just about 99% not. If the appraiser does, he or she is most likely not following a proper FHA guideline for bedrooms. General rules are it must have a closet, must have a full bath on the same floor (attic bedrooms in much older homes are often passed in exception to that rule), and it must have reasonable egress. No window, no egress.

Nope. Unless you add an egress window or move the wall to have that exterior door within the room, it will be no dice with the FHA and any occupancy inspector or insurer.Source(s): 30 years experience with home inspections
